Saelish Demifiction!
Stealing the idea shamelessly from
aldersprig, where you can go to see the nested quote definition in all of its glory.
Give me prompts for demifiction for Saeland, my setting for the Invisible Dragons (working title) series (that may never come to fruition but you know). If it's something that exists in-setting, I'll do it! Or at least part, if it's longish.
I have a setting definitions page somewhere, I think........ but it's the setting for this story.

newspaper article - something /almost/ too scandalous to print.
excerpt from a geography text
Considered by many to be the greatest feature of northern Illere, the Helders is by far the largest mountain range of the entire Continent. Its impressive length spans from the coast opposite the Point all the way into Istura, and the region in northern Trevess holds some of the highest peaks in the world. The mountains are so tall, in fact, that the mountaintops are covered in snow even during the hottest days of summer. During the early postloimic era, ambitious nobility in Alceny would compete with one another to transport this midsummer rarity back to their monarch - a difficult journey over hundreds of miles.
Re: excerpt from a geography text
postloimic ?
Re: excerpt from a geography text
"loimic" roughly means "pertaining to plague", so "postloimic" is "after the plague(s)"

newspaper article
The reunion of the missing Lady Elaine Trelfath with her family the twelfth brought tears of joy to her friends and relatives alike. But their rejoicing was cut abruptly short as the revelation of where, and why, she has been gone these past weeks has swept the Bexberg area. The young Lady Trelfath, it appears, has eloped - and with none other than the newest Hensbery stablehand.
The two met during a social visit of the Trelfath's to the Hensbery household, where the eldest daughter of Lord Trelfath had relocated last year after her long-awaited marriage to the eldest Hensbery son. It is believed that the handsome young stablehand, unbeknownst to his employers, quickly won the heart of the Lady Elaine and in a series of covert communications over a course of months, the two commenced a romantic affair that ultimately culminated in the lady's disappearance.
As the lady in question is the Trelfath's much-loved youngest daughter, it is unknown whether His Lordship will take any action against his new son-in-law. The happy newlyweds appear to have no expectations of inheritance, which is in itself possibly the most unusual turn of these surprising events.
