NaNoWriMo!
This is pretty much an FYI with the basic info on what I'm doing for NaNo this year and how I'll be going about it re: stats, updates and so forth.
Personal "Landing Page"
My writing scribbles site has the NaNoWriMo page updated for this year's info. It's got a link to my 2013 novel profile on the official NaNo site, a screenshot of my spreadsheet chart which I intend to update daily along with my official wordcount, and a link to where the draft is going to be going.
If you find yourself having misplaced the link to the landing page, it's linked to directly on my NaNoWriMo profile, or you can access it by clicking the word count widget or the NaNoWriMo menu item on the Scribbles site. (Which is the site linked to on my twitter account, too.) (Basically everything of mine that has a spot for my website links to the Scribbles site.)
Update Posting
I'm going to be putting each day's output on aforementioned site, as described on aforementioned landing page. There are a few key details:
What I'm Writing
ACCIDENTAL DEMON CONTRACT! 8D!!
Okay, more informatively this time (although if you know much about magical contracts in anime then you actually have a good idea already).
The Protagonist (tentatively a girl) winds up binding a "demon" into her service, through an unexpected conflux of events which I am largely leaving unspecified for now but which involve an occult-enthusiast friend having drawn a demon-catching circle on the floor of Protag's apartment beneath a good-sized area rug. Needless to say, he is not pleased, but considering Protag's alternative was "have my throat torn out"... Well, she isn't about to release him.
Even though having a demon bound to her will gets her caught up in a whole bunch of ridiculous - and dangerous - shenanigans, and drags her unwillingly into a level of society she didn't even realize existed.
...now after reading that, you may be thinking the genre sounds Pretty Damn Familiar. And you'd be right! Except that I am determined that it's not going to fall into the tired old "female protagonist and male supernatural being inevitably become the leads of a supernatural romance" because siiigh. I'm actually hoping it turns into a supernatural mystery, but we'll see!
The only characters I have any solid concept for right now are the occult-enthusiast friend and a vampire bartender/owner. I'm looking forward to figuring out the rest as I go. :D
NaNoWriMo and This Blog
While I won't be posting any of my novel draft on here, I'm thinking of doing character-building Q&As and things like that periodically, so if you're interested in helping me out, I'll be posting it to my nanowrimo tag. (Random quick questions like "I NEED A NAME" are gonna be on twitter though.)

Update Posting
I'm going to be putting each day's output on aforementioned site, as described on aforementioned landing page. There are a few key details:
- None of the NaNo posts will show up on the main page of the site. You'll have to go to the actual category.
- They will all be password-protected; you'll need to ask me for the password if you want to read them. Don't be afraid to ask, and if I say no, don't take it personally.
- You can ask me for the password via any medium we use to communicate. Comments or messages on DW will be replied to with messages on DW; twitter mentions will be replied to with mentions or DMs; emails will be replied to with emails; etc.
- The password-protection thing is really nothing personal. I just don't want to have the draft out in the open where everyone and their cousin's sister's fiance can read it if I wind up, say, submitting a revised draft to a publisher or something in the future. I'm only posting it at all because 1) a (very) few of my friends are curious and 2) the accountability helps keep me motivated.
