Luke was back at Addergoole. Just for a couple of days, so far, but it was the official mark of his advisorial role being temporarily over. Leo had mined him for all the thoughts and information he could, before Luke had to leave - not because he needed it, but because it was stupid to waste valuable resources. Even if they weren't in this case his resources, exactly.

And now, the army was moving again, marching on towards their next target. Leo gazed off at the road ahead of them, listening to the familiar sounds of moving an entire army across semi-rough terrain, feeling the familiar buzz and knowing they were watching.

Leo hadn't actually noticed it at first. The effects when speaking to his people, the high that got pushed up further and further with the feedback from reading the crowd and manipulating them just right, that he'd noticed right away. (Although he hadn't figured out what it was for... a while.) But there was more, a steady buzz whenever he was there, which he'd only started to notice now that he was jumping back and forth between his army and Cloverleaf more frequently. He hadn't noticed its absence so much, but when he came back from Cya's and was there again, with his army...

The best way he could describe it was calling it 'a buzz', but it wasn't all that like a caffeine buzz, or an alcohol buzz. Somewhere in between, maybe, pleasant and energizing and reminding him of all his people around him, looking up to him. Reminding him that he mattered.

His thoughts flitted unbidden to Cya; to Cya, and her reactions to all of this. Worried, unhappy; jealous, even? Leo felt himself starting to frown and put a conscious effort into smoothing out his expression. She'd been upset, but even after he'd pointed out she could tell him to stop, she didn't, so she must be okay with it now, at least... Besides, he was doing all of this conquering thing for her, she had to realize...

The thought occurred to him for the first time that maybe she didn't. But she had to; she was the one who wanted to 'save the world', to rebuild civilization and all of that. She'd even started making requests, like the town with the good grapes-growing land to start a winery. Of course she realized it.

Luke was back at Addergoole, he thought again, pushing the other train of thought from his mind.
